UHACC Guiding Principles
UHACC is both technical and service-oriented. But since we all find our favorite technologies interesting, important, and compelling enough to seek out others like ourselves, the founders came to realize that we, above all else, are a social organization.
This does not mean that we aren't serious about technology or service to others or the community at large, it just means that we value the building of a living community at least as much as we value promoting, using, developing, and educating on alternative and open technologies.
Under this open social pretext, UHACC members are free to explore for themselves where they fit in, how they might want to contribute, and what they want to get out of UHACC. Unsuprisingly, the diversity and volume of output by our membership flourishes under this model, because we are free to explore and define our own stewardship as a personal endeavor rather than by mandate.
