UHACC Installfest, a way to help new users install linux for the first time and help them learn where to start. We welcome people who don't know much about computers as well as those who do. Anyone can come.

When:

Saturday September 28th from 10:00 AM until 4:30 PM. No appointment is necessary.

Where:

Bone Student Center, first floor in the Founder's Suite. It will be marked and easy to find.

Throughout the day, experienced Linux professionals and hobbyists will be availabe to help install and configure linux on your pc. An intro to linux workshop will be held from 11am - noon, continuing from 1pm - 2pm that day as well. There will also be an all-day LAN party for linux gaming. Quake, Unreal Tournament, and more.
We hope to see you there at our big event. The only thing you need to do is bring your computer! To learn more about the installfest, or linux in general, please click below.

Normal User

You just want a computer that works and does what you want. Nobody wants a computer with slow load times that takes forever just to open up one program. Chances are you're also sick of pop-up ads on web pages and having to worry about what viruses you may be infected with.
Linux has a way to eliminate pop-up advertisements and is immune to all viruses.

Computer Professional

You can use most any application you find, and picking up something new just means reading the menu options (File, Edit, View, etc). You want to learn linux to increase your knowledge and learn marketable skills.
The UHACC installfest is the place to start.
